Music Generation Events was formed in December 2007 by Directors John and Jane Grey, specifically to promote a series of summer music festivals in the UK.

MGE started organising their first event, an Eighties Revival festival, in 2008, originally scheduled to take place in Leeds in May 2010.  The logistics for this event proved to be more of a challenge than originally anticipated and, as a result the event has had to be postponed.  In the meantime, the owners of a beach in Lincolnshire approached MGE to stage a reggae festival, and preparations were soon underway for this event to take place in Ingoldmells, in July 2010.  Unfortunately, however, after encountering various difficulties with the residents and authorities, this event had to be cancelled.

Support and enthusiasm from the public to stage a reggae festival in the UK, has convinced MGE of its commitment to continue to strive to make this event happen.

John Grey (aka Scratch) hails from New Zealand, although he lived for many years in Australia as a musician touring with various bands.  He lived mainly in Queensland, providing additional services as an Entertainment Agent for various live bands on the circuit. In addition, he was often sought out to provide support and assistance for various live music events, which is where he gained his event organising experience.  John is also a full-time musician performing regularly at gigs around the South East with his band, as part of a duo and as a solo musician.

Jane Grey has lived mostly in the South East of England.  Also with a background in music, she studied the piano and later the cello.
After Technical College she moved to London to pursue a career in the entertainment industry and eventually settled at Thames Television.  Following the broadcast licence debacle of 1992, Jane took voluntary redundancy and travelled around the world.  On her return she found employment at a subsidiary of General Electric, later being promoted to Events Organiser & Marketing Co-Ordinator, where she gained invaluable experience.  Jane is also a full-time musician performing at gigs regularly with John Grey and in a ten-piece blues and soul band.
